A mountain castle complex northeast of Ueda, made up of the Toishi, Honjo, Masugata and Yoneyama strongholds along a steep ridge. Takeda Shingen suffered one of his heaviest defeats here in 1550, remembered as the Toishi Kuzure, before Sanada Yukitaka took the castle the next year. Designated a National Historic Site, the ridge trail gives wide views over the Ueda basin.
