A striking Shinto shrine perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Its iconic torii gate stands on the rocks amid crashing waves, creating one of Japan's most photographed sunrise scenes. The shrine dates back to 856 AD and enshrines Onamuchi-no-Mikoto. Popular for New Year sunrise viewing.
