Perched on a hillside overlooking the Onomichi Channel, Senkoji Temple is the iconic landmark of Onomichi. Founded in 806 AD, the temple offers panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea and the Shimanami Kaido bridge route. The Senkoji Ropeway carries visitors up the hill, and the surrounding park is famous for cherry blossoms in spring.
