One of Japan's most iconic castles, Tsurugajo (also known as Aizu-Wakamatsu Castle) is famous for its distinctive red-tiled roof — the only castle in Japan with such tiles. The castle played a central role in the Boshin War and stands as a symbol of samurai loyalty. The surrounding park is a top cherry blossom spot.
