The most important shrine in Utsunomiya, situated atop Myojin Hill in the city center. Established over 1,600 years ago, it enshrines the deity Toyoki-irihiko-no-mikoto and serves as the guardian shrine of the entire Shimotsuke Province. Major festivals and events are held throughout the year.
