A scenic lake at 1,269 meters elevation in the Oku-Nikko area, formed around 20,000 years ago by eruptions of Mt. Nantai. With a circumference of 25km, it served as a popular summer retreat for foreign diplomats in the Meiji era. Enjoy sightseeing cruises, autumn foliage views, and nearby Kegon Falls.
