About this event
A 1,000-year-old bull sumo tradition and Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Massive bulls lock horns in the Ojiya Bullring, guided by shouting handlers (seko); bouts are deliberately ended in a draw to protect the animals. Doors open 10:00, bouts from noon to around 15:00. Admission 2,000 yen (junior high and under free).
