About this event
The autumn grand festival of Muku Shrine in the Shimoyoshida district of Chichibu. Twenty-seven local guilds build black-powder rockets by hand and launch about thirty of them from a hillside tower as offerings for a good harvest. Designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
