The ichinomiya (first-ranked shrine) of former Owari Province, Masumida Shrine is a major Shinto shrine in Ichinomiya city. It enshrines Ama-no-ho-akari and has served as the spiritual center of the region for over a thousand years. The shrine and its surrounding streets host the famous Ichinomiya Tanabata Festival every July.
