Historic shrine in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto, known as Myoken-gu and head shrine of Myoken worship in Kyushu. It hosts the Yatsushiro Myoken Festival every November, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage float procession with the mythical turtle-snake creature 'Kida'.
