A hilltop castle in Iga built by Todo Takatora in 1611, famous for one of Japan's tallest stone ramparts at about 30 metres. The three-storey wooden keep was rebuilt in 1935 and its top-floor ceiling carries painted panels donated by writers and politicians of the era. The surrounding Ueno Park also holds the Iga Ninja Museum and the Basho Memorial Hall.
