Hozugawa River

The Hozugawa River flows through a dramatically beautiful gorge west of Kyoto, famous for its traditional wooden boat rides from Kameoka down to Arashiyama. The two-hour scenic descent through forested mountains and rocky rapids has been a popular excursion since the Heian period.
