A beloved hilltop park in eastern Nagaoka known locally as "O-yama". Some 2,500 cherry trees make it one of Niigata's top hanami spots, and autumn brings vivid foliage. The grounds include Soshi Shrine, a castle-style local history museum, a small zoo and walking trails.
