Minetopia Besshi

A mining heritage theme park on the site of the Besshi Copper Mine, which the Sumitomo family worked for 283 years. A tourist train runs into a former mine tunnel with exhibits on Edo- and Meiji-era copper mining, alongside a hot spring, panning experiences and the trailhead for the ruins at Tonaru, nicknamed the Machu Picchu of the East.
