Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine

One of the most important Fuji shrines and the traditional starting point of the Yoshida Trail for climbing Mount Fuji. The shrine is surrounded by towering cedar trees and features an impressive wooden torii gate, one of the largest in Japan. Every August 26-27, the shrine hosts the Yoshida Fire Festival, one of Japan's three most unusual festivals.
