A historic Buddhist temple in Osaka's Tennoji area, founded in 593 by Prince Shotoku. Known as a powerful love and matchmaking shrine, it is home to the famous Aizen Matsuri, one of Osaka's three great summer festivals. The temple's multi-storied pagoda is an Important Cultural Property.
