Morioka Castle Ruins Park

Morioka Castle Ruins Park, also known as Iwate Park, stands on the site of the former Morioka Castle that once served as the stronghold of the Nambu clan during the Edo period. The castle's stone walls and foundations remain beautifully preserved along the Kitakami River, surrounded by cherry blossom trees that make it one of Iwate Prefecture's premier hanami spots. The park is a beloved green space in the heart of Morioka City.
