About this event
A UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage boat festival with nearly 600 years of history. On the evening of July 25, five makiwara boats adorned with over 500 lanterns each drift across Tennogawa Park canal, creating a magical scene of lights reflected on the water. The morning festival on July 26 features boats decorated with elaborate carved figures. One of the Three Great River Festivals of Japan.
