Toyohashi Gion Festival 2026

One of Japan's most spectacular fireworks festivals, featuring the dramatic tezutsu hanabi (hand-held tube fireworks) unique to Toyohashi. On July 17, brave participants hold massive fireworks tubes while sparks cascade over them at Yoshida Shrine. On July 18, over 12,000 fireworks light up the Toyo River. July 19 features a traditional parade with portable shrines.
