About this event

The Kanuma Imamiya Shrine Float Festival, inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Twenty-seven lavishly carved wooden floats — nicknamed "moving Yomeimon gates" — parade through the town, and rival crews face off in buttsuke, a head-to-head contest of festival music.
