About this event
Five days of open kilns along the Amakusa west coast, across Reihoku and the Amakusa district of Amakusa city. The area is known for high-grade Amakusa pottery stone, and Amakusa ware was designated a national traditional craft in 2003; each kiln shows its own character, from translucent pure-white pieces to the soft tones of wood-ash glaze.
