54th Odate Kiritanpo Festival

About this event

Akita's best-known food festival, held over two days at the Nipro Hachiko Dome in Odate, the home of kiritanpo. Pounded rice is moulded onto cedar skewers, grilled over charcoal and simmered in a hotpot with Hinai-jidori chicken and local vegetables. Stalls from across the prefecture, live stage events and Akita dog appearances fill the dome from 10:00 to 17:00 on both days.
