About this event
One of western Japan's most intense festivals, held on the 4th Saturday of November at Hofu Tenmangu Shrine. At 18:00 the shrine doors open and hundreds of loincloth-clad "hadakabo" men surge into the hall shouting "Kyodai Wasshoi!", carrying the sacred palanquin to the Katsuma shore.
