Uneme Festival

About this event

A graceful harvest-moon festival at Sarusawa Pond in Nara. A procession with a flower-decorated fan (hanaogi) travels from JR Nara Station to Uneme Shrine, followed by an evening ritual in which two dragon-prowed boats carrying gagaku musicians circle the moonlit pond.
