About this event
One of Shikoku's three great festivals. Over 50 massive, ornately decorated taiko-dai (drum floats) weighing up to 3 tons each are carried by teams of 150 men through the streets of Niihama. The spectacular kakikurabe competitions where rival teams hoist their floats high are the highlight.
