114th Nanyo Chrysanthemum Festival

About this event

One of the oldest chrysanthemum festivals in Japan, running since 1912. It unfolds across two venues in Nanyo, Yamagata: the Miyauchi site around Kumano Taisha shrine (9-19 October) and the Hana-koen central flower park (20 October - 8 November). Prize chrysanthemums, cascade and thousand-bloom displays, and costumed chrysanthemum dolls are shown at both. Open 9:00-16:00.
