Daishoin Temple Autumn Leaves Illumination

For about two weeks in late November the halls and maple trees in the precincts of Daishoin, Miyajima's oldest temple, are floodlit after dark. The temple sits on the slope of Mount Misen above Momijidani, so the lit-up buildings, stone steps and prayer-wheel handrail are framed by autumn colour. Free of charge, 17:30 to 19:00.
