The Lake Biwa Grand Fireworks is one of the largest fireworks festivals in the Kansai region, launching approximately 10,000 fireworks over the surface of Lake Biwa. The 40th anniversary edition in 2026 promises an especially spectacular show, with fireworks reflected on the lake's calm waters creating a stunning mirror effect. Viewing spots line the lakeside in Otsu, and the event draws hundreds of thousands of spectators.
