70th Nihonmatsu Chrysanthemum Doll Exhibition

About this event

Held in the grounds of Kasumigajo Park (the Nihonmatsu Castle ruins), this is one of Japan's largest chrysanthemum festivals. Life-size dolls costumed entirely in living chrysanthemums stage scenes from history; the 2026 edition takes the theme "The bonds of the Toyotomi and the pride of the Niwa clan." The Fukushima and Nihonmatsu chrysanthemum competitions run at the same time, and the park's autumn foliage peaks during the festival. Open daily 9:00-16:00.
