A gorge carved over some 5 km by the Okimizu river, and Mimata's best-known scenic spot. A walking path follows the stream past giant and oddly shaped boulders; fresh green in early summer and late-autumn colour are the draws. From autumn into early winter the gorge is floodlit, with the lit rock faces and foliage mirrored in the water.
