Shizuoka Sengen Shrine

A grand shrine complex consisting of three shrines with 26 buildings designated as Important Cultural Properties. Known for its spectacular lacquered and gilded architecture, often called 'Tokaido's Nikko.' The shrine hosts the famous Shizuoka Matsuri festival in April and various seasonal ceremonies throughout the year. The precinct also includes a beautiful forest trail up Mt. Shizuhata.
