A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Nine Gusuku Sites of Ryukyu, Nakijin Castle was the stronghold of the northern Ryukyu kingdom of Hokuzan. Its impressive 1.5-kilometer stone walls wind along the hilltop, offering sweeping views of the East China Sea and cherry blossoms in early spring.
