A beautifully restored wooden castle originally built in the late 16th century by Yamauchi Kazutoyo. It is the first castle in Japan to be rebuilt using traditional wooden construction methods in 1994. The castle keep offers panoramic views of the city, and the adjacent Ninomaru Goten palace is a designated Important Cultural Property.
