Akame 48 Waterfalls
Nabari, Japan
A four-kilometre gorge in Nabari where the Takigawa river drops through a chain of waterfalls including the five celebrated Akame Gotaki. Designated a national Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Monument, the valley is a habitat of the giant Japanese salamander and was historically a training ground for Iga ninja. The trail is lit for the Mie Akame Takiakari illumination each autumn and winter.
