Kotohiragu Shrine (Konpira-san)

One of the most famous shrines in Japan, known as Konpira-san. Visitors climb 785 stone steps to the main hall (or 1,368 steps to the inner shrine) through a historic approach lined with shops and cultural treasures. Enshrines the guardian deity of seafarers and has been a major pilgrimage destination for centuries.
