The sprawling residence of a wealthy forestry and post-town family in Chizu, rebuilt over 1919-1929 with some forty rooms and seven storehouses. Its soaring beamed entrance hall and Japanese garden, a Registered Monument, are open to the public as a museum of early-modern craftsmanship.
