Zentsuji Temple

The 75th temple of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and the birthplace of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), one of Japan's most important Buddhist figures. The vast complex is divided into the East Temple (with a five-story pagoda and main hall) and West Temple (the sacred birth site). One of the three major pilgrimage sites in Japan alongside Koyasan and Toji.
