National Museum of Japanese History

Japan's national museum of history, archaeology and folklore, set on the grounds of the former Sakura Castle in Chiba. Nicknamed Rekihaku, its six permanent galleries trace Japanese life from prehistory to the twentieth century through full-scale reconstructions and folk material.
