Counted among Japan's Three Great Buddhas alongside Nara and Kamakura, this bronze Amitabha Buddha stands 16 meters tall. Built over 26 years using Takaoka's renowned copper casting techniques, it is praised as the most handsome of the Great Buddhas. The pedestal houses a gallery with Buddhist paintings.
