The ruins of the castle built in 1604 by Mori Terumoto at the foot of Mt. Shizuki, seat of the Choshu domain until its demolition in 1874. Broad moats, towering stone walls and the old samurai quarter remain, and the grounds are part of the Hagi UNESCO World Heritage listing.
