Said to have been founded in the year 701, this is the oldest Hachiman shrine in the Kanto region. Taira no Masakado is recorded as having prayed here for victory; the main hall is an Important Cultural Property, and the grounds are known for hydrangeas in summer and a chrysanthemum show in autumn.
