Mount Ishizuchi

At 1,982 m the highest peak in western Japan and one of Japan's seven sacred mountains, straddling Saijo and Kumakogen in Ehime. Pilgrims climb chained rock faces to the summit shrine, while a ropeway and the Omogo valley below make the autumn foliage season accessible to day visitors.
