A Shingon temple founded in 717 at the foot of weathered volcanic cliffs in Komatsu. Caves and pitted rock faces rise directly behind the main hall, and the poet Basho stopped here on his Narrow Road journey. The grounds are among Ishikawa's best-known spots for autumn colour.
