Niigata Hakusan Shrine

Niigata's most important shrine, Hakusan Shrine has been the spiritual center of the city for over 1,000 years. Dedicated to the deity of marriage and harmony, the shrine hosts the lively Hakusan Matsuri every June. The adjacent Hakusan Park is one of Japan's oldest city parks, offering beautiful seasonal flowers and a tranquil retreat in downtown Niigata.
