The head shrine of all Suitengu water deity shrines across Japan, located on the banks of the Chikugo River in Kurume. Founded in 1190, it is dedicated to water gods and is popular for prayers for safe childbirth and maritime safety. The riverside setting offers beautiful views, especially during the annual Chikugogawa Fireworks Festival.
