One of Japan's oldest and most prestigious shrines with over 2,500 years of history, serving as the head shrine of approximately 500 Aso shrines nationwide. Its towering romon gate is considered one of Japan's three greatest shrine gates, fully restored in 2024 after earthquake damage.
