74th Hakushu Festival Water Parade

Yanagawa remembers its native poet Kitahara Hakushu, who died on 2 November, with three nights of boats drifting down the canals of the old moat town. Lanterns line the four-kilometre course, folk performances, drumming, choirs and brass bands play from stages along the banks, and fireworks close the parade at the final landing.
