Japan's largest dance festival and one of the country's most iconic summer celebrations. Over 1 million spectators watch as 100,000 dancers perform the distinctive Awa Odori dance through the streets of Tokushima during the Obon period. The infectious chant 'The dancing fool and the watching fool are both fools, so you might as well dance!' embodies the festival spirit.
