Kakunodate Cherry Blossom Festival 2026

One of Japan's most famous cherry blossom festivals, held along the samurai district of Kakunodate. 162 weeping cherry trees designated as national natural treasures line the black-walled samurai residences, while 400 Somei Yoshino trees create a 2km cherry tunnel along the Hinokinai River. Features food stalls, traditional Oyama-bayashi performances, and evening illuminations.
