About this event
The Autumn Equinox Festival at Heian Jingu is a Shinto ceremony marking the autumnal equinox, one of the two days in the year when day and night are in perfect balance. Priests offer prayers of gratitude for the harvest and the blessings of the season within the shrine's spectacular late-Meiji era architecture. The ceremony connects the timeless rhythms of the natural world with the spiritual traditions of one of Kyoto's most beloved shrines.
